What is ChocoFest?

ChocoFest is Western Canada’s premier chocolate tasting festival, a celebration of all things chocolate! Bringing together chocolate makers, chocolatiers, bakeries, and confectioners from across Canada, ChocoFest offers guests the opportunity to discover, sample, and purchase an incredible variety of artisanal chocolates, desserts, and sweet treats.

More than just a tasting event, ChocoFest features educational chocolate experiences, opportunities to meet the makers, exclusive tasting experiences, and special attractions that make each festival unique. Whether you’re a dedicated chocolate lover or simply looking for a fun and delicious day out, ChocoFest offers an unforgettable experience for chocolate enthusiasts of all ages.

Our Chocolate makers will have samples of their chocolate treats available for you to try. All samples are just 1 ticket. You buy tickets online and a QR code is emailed to you.

You show the QR code to the vendor (either on your phone or printed out) and they scan it with our ChocoFest app on their mobile device and check off how many tickets you’re using with them.

All samples are just one ticket at each vendor.

Taste Tickets are $2.50 each and are sold in bundles:

  •   5 tickets – $12.50
  • 10 tickets  – $22.50 (10% off, making each ticket $2.25)
  • 25 ticket –  $53.13 (15% off, making each ticket $2.13)

Yes! You can screen shot your QR Code or print it out at home and each member of your party can use the same QR code.Our software keeps track of how many tickets you redeem.

No. Admission tickets can be purchased separately online with a discount or at the door for full price.

Taste tickets are just for the samples vendors have. You are welcome to purchase their retail products from them with cash or credit card.

Samples are typically around 10g, about the size of a square of chocolate or a small tasting portion.

They vary by vendor and may include bonbons, chocolate bars, or small dessert-style samples, giving you a meaningful taste of each maker’s chocolate.

This approach allows you to try a wide variety of chocolates while enjoying a true tasting experience.

You can purchase Taste Tickets online right up to the close of the festival and receive the online discount.

Yes, while tickets are free for children ages 0-12 on Saturday they still need a ticket.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Note: Friday is adults only.

Not a problem, contact us at hello@chocofest.ca with the email you purchased your tickets with and we can resend you the email with the QR code.

Tickets allow entry for your chosen time slot only. If the slot is sold out, entry cannot be accommodated, however, if space remains, your ticket will be accepted.

Yes! Tickets are transferable. You may give your QR code to another person as long as they qualify for the same ticket category.

Examples:
• Senior tickets may be transferred to another senior.
• Adult tickets may be transferred to another adult.

Each QR code can only be scanned once for admission.

Yes. If you can no longer attend, you may transfer or resell your ticket to another person, provided they meet the requirements of the ticket category purchased.

To avoid problems at the door, only share the QR code with the person receiving the ticket. Once a ticket has been scanned for admission, it cannot be used again.

Please use caution when buying or selling tickets privately, as ChocoFest cannot guarantee the validity of tickets obtained through unofficial sources.

No. All ticket sales are final and tickets are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend, tickets may be transferred to another person provided they meet the requirements of the ticket category purchased.

Yes, admission tickets may be available at the door at the regular full price. However, many time slots sold out in advance last year, and if a session reaches capacity, only guests with pre-purchased tickets will be admitted.

Purchasing online not only saves money but also guarantees your spot in your preferred time slot.

To ensure your tickets are valid, purchase only through the official ChocoFest website or from someone you know and trust who is transferring their ticket directly to you.

ChocoFest is not responsible for tickets purchased through third-party websites, online marketplaces, social media posts, or unauthorized resellers. Tickets that have been altered, or previously scanned for admission will not be honoured.

If you have any questions about a ticket before purchasing it, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help verify its validity.

No. Tickets are valid only for the city, date, and admission session selected at the time of purchase.

Edmonton tickets cannot be used for Calgary admission, and Calgary tickets cannot be used for Edmonton admission. Please review your order carefully before completing your purchase.

If you purchased tickets for the wrong city, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to assist you

Yes. We offer dedicated Seniors Only sessions where guests aged 65+ receive half-price admission ($10).

Please note that the senior discount is only available for the Seniors Only sessions and is not valid during regular festival admission times.

Yes, we have special tickets for senior companions, they’re priced at regular admission but let you get in with your senior for the earlier hour. 

Friday night at ChocoFest is an adults-only evening. Take part in fun chocolate trivia contests, learn from guest speakers, and track your tasting journey with complimentary tasting notes.

Absolutely! Our vendors will have delicious chocolates and other sweets available for purchase, so you can take home your favourite treats to enjoy after the festival.

Yes, you’re welcome to take your samples home! However, please note that the samples are not packaged and are meant to be enjoyed during ChocoFest. We encourage you to savour the experience while you’re here!

ChocoFest will feature a wide variety of vendors, including local home-based chocolatiers, international craft chocolate makers, dessert artisans, and confectioners. You’ll find everything from handmade truffles and gourmet chocolate bars to decadent baked goods and unique chocolate creations, as well as cookies, cake pops and cupcakes. Yes. However, we recommend you purchase your admission tickets and taste tickets online for immediate access, discounts and to avoid standing in line. Tickets can be purchased online during the event.

Yes, entry tickets and taste tickets can be purchased at the festival with cash if they are still available. Individual vendor policies may vary.

Yes. The entry times are to help manage the crowds, but you’re welcome to stay as long as you’d like after you enter.

No. Admission is valid for your selected time slot only. Timed entry helps us manage crowd levels, reduce lineups, and ensure all guests have a comfortable tasting experience.

ChocoFest is designed primarily as a chocolate tasting experience for teens and adults. On Saturday, children 12 and under are welcome to attend free with a ticketed adult, however, there are no dedicated children’s activities.

Yes, strollers are welcome at ChocoFest. Families with young children can easily navigate the festival with strollers.

• Edmonton: Free parking is available for all ChocoFest guests.

• Calgary: Parking is free after 6:00 PM on Friday. Paid parking rates apply on Saturday.

Yes! There will be tables and chairs.

• Edmonton: The Edmonton Inn & Conference Centre is located on the main floor and is fully accessible for guests of all abilities. For the easiest access, we recommend entering through the rear entrance of the building.

• Calgary: The Red & White Club is located on the second floor and is accessible by elevator. Please follow the accessible entrance signs on the left side of the building near the parking lot.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at ChocoFest, with the exception of service animals.

Our vendors will be offering a delicious variety of chocolates, desserts, baked goods, and sweet treats.

• Edmonton: If you’re looking for something savoury, the Edmonton Inn & Conference Centre has an on-site restaurant where non-chocolate food options are available for purchase.

• Calgary: The Red & White Club does not have an on-site restaurant, so guests may wish to enjoy a meal before or after their visit.

We love volunteers! We call them Chocolateers. We are accepting applications from ages 16 and up. Please join our volunteer waitlist to apply. https://chocofest.ca/volunteers

Are there accommodations nearby for out-of-town visitors?

Yes.

• Edmonton: The Edmonton Inn & Conference Centre offers comfortable on-site guest rooms, making it easy to stay right where the festival takes place.

• Calgary: There are several hotels located near the Red & White Club. We plan to secure a preferred hotel block for ChocoFest guests and will post accommodation details as they become available.

In the unlikely event that ChocoFest is cancelled, all admission tickets and unused Taste Tickets purchased through our official ticketing system will be refunded to the original purchaser.

Refund details and timelines will be communicated by email and posted on our website and social media channels.

Many exhibitors offer products that are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, nut-free, or suitable for other dietary preferences. However, ChocoFest cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Food and beverage products sampled, sold, or displayed at ChocoFest are provided by independent exhibitors and may contain, or have been produced in facilities that process, common allergens including:

• Peanuts
• Tree nuts
• Dairy
• Soy
• Wheat
• Sesame
• Eggs

If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, please speak directly with exhibitors before sampling or purchasing any product. Attendees are responsible for reviewing ingredients and determining whether a product is suitable for their needs.

Many of our exhibitors offer products that accommodate a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions, including gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, vegan, and nut-free options.

Because products are provided by independent exhibitors and may change from year to year, we cannot guarantee the availability of any specific dietary option. Guests with allergies or dietary restrictions should speak directly with exhibitors and carefully review ingredients before sampling or purchasing any product.

Will photos and videos be taken at ChocoFest?

Yes. ChocoFest may photograph, film, livestream, record audio, or otherwise capture portions of the event.

By attending, you grant ChocoFest, Mountainlion Events Ltd., and its authorized representatives permission to use your image, likeness, voice, appearance, and statements in photographs, videos, livestreams, social media content, advertising, promotional materials, websites, and future marketing initiatives without compensation or further notice.

Yes. ChocoFest welcomes and respects all guests, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, or background.

We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience where everyone can come together to celebrate their love of chocolate.

Group discounts may be available for larger groups, corporate outings, seniors’ organizations, and other special arrangements.
